After our hearty commendations to Your Lordship, whereas
His Majesty is by the late treaty with the States of the
United Netherlands, obliged to the restitution of
Suranam, into the possession of the said States.
These are to acquaint Your Lordship that it is His
Majestyes pleasure, and you are in His Majestyes name hereby
authorised and required, to take care that Suranam,
bee according to the tenor and intention of the said
treaty forthwith restored, and yielded up to remain
in the quiett possession of the said States, or such
as they shall appoint in their name to take possession
thereof, And Your Lordship also is required to com-
mand all His Majestyes subjects, late inhabitants of that
place (upon their allegiance) forthwith to withdrawe
themselves, and their families into some parts of
His Majestyes dominions in America. And for their
better incouragement therein, to afford them all
convenient assistance, wich may facilitate their
retreat, so not doubting of Your Lordships ready
compliance with His Majestyes pleasure ande direction,
wee bid Your Lordship heartily farewell. From
